About Baba Ramdev
Baba Ramdev is a popular deity in Rajasthan. He was a king of Rajasthan who ruled Pokhran in the 14th century. He is said to have special spiritual powers and is considered an incarnation of Lord Krishna. His followers include Hindus, Muslims, Jains and Sikhs. His birthday is celebrated as Baba Ramdev Jayanti. Bhadrapada is the second day of Shukla Paksha month. He is the son of King Ajamal and Queen Minaldevi. For many years the couple remained childless. King Ajamal then went to Dwaraka and prayed to Lord Krishna for sons and expressed his desire to have children like Krishna. Later he was blessed with two sons. Impressed by his magical powers, the five Pirs decided to return with him and were also named Rama Shah Peer. The temple site is said to have been built in 1931 by Maharaja Ganga Singh around the final resting place of Baba Ramdev. The Tomb of the Five Couples of Mecca is also believed to have been built around Ramdev's Samadhi.
